Craig Miller - Owner
Craig Miller, co-owner of Alex’s Railside Restaurant, is a Midland native with a background rooted in service and community. After serving in the U.S. Army, Craig returned to Midland and spent several years in the insurance industry, where he helped clients navigate important life decisions with care and clarity.
His experience in both military and business settings taught him the value of discipline, consistency, and strong communication — all of which he now brings to his role at Railside. Craig has always had a long-term goal of owning a business in his hometown, and the opportunity to help create a space where people can gather, eat well, and feel at home was the right fit.
At the restaurant, Craig focuses on day-to-day operations, team support, and making sure every guest has a great experience. His practical mindset and community-first approach help keep things running smoothly while building something meaningful right here in Midland.
Will Gum - Owner
Will Gum brings over 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry to Alex’s Railside Restaurant. A seasoned hospitality professional, Will spent much of his career in management with LaBelle Management, where he oversaw operations at well-known restaurants including Bennigan’s, Big Boy, and Sweet Onion.
For the past 10 years, Will has proudly owned and operated Alex’s, building a loyal customer base and a reputation for great food and reliable service. His hands-on leadership style and deep understanding of restaurant operations have helped make Alex’s a go-to spot for locals and travelers alike.
Beyond the restaurant, Will is an avid hunter who enjoys spending time outdoors. His work ethic, experience, and long-standing ties to the local hospitality scene make him a key part of what keeps Railside running strong.
